Christann Sanford

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful Mommy, Grandma, and Partner, Christann Sanford, who left us too soon on December 14, 2025, at the age of 54. Christann, our Mommy, our grandma, was literally the family’s glue; there was absolutely nothing she could not handle. She was the strongest woman all of us have ever known. Christann, our Mommy, our Grandma, left behind 6 children: Marniece Ann Talley, Charnise Gertrude Talley, Arnisha La’Trece Talley, Tarnisha Rona Talley, Maurice James Lee Talley Jr., and Nyresha Ann Sanford, as well as her extended family of children, Wilianys L. Walvin Bruno and Michael Charles Pettway - they loved her like their own. She also left behind what we call the four keys to her heart: her grandkids, or what she liked to call “granny babies”: Marquess Edward Lee Talley, Wilmer Yetziel Lee Talley, Maurice James Lee Talley III, and Ke’yatta Katherine Pettway. (Mommy, nobody could tell you absolutely nothing about "granny babies". They did no wrong in your eyes. The love that you had for them is unmatched. We never saw you love anyone like you loved your "granny babies").

Christann leaves behind her partner of more than 37 years and father to her children, Maurice James Talley Sr. Although their relationship was not perfect, it was "their" perfect. There was so much love behind it all.

Mommy, although we cannot hear your voice, see you laugh, or fuss anymore, we have faith that you will still walk beside all of your children, grandchildren, and partner in this life, to be our angel, and to look over us just as you always did before you left us. Mommy, your human body may be gone, but your spirit and your soul will never leave us. As your children, we promise to never lose touch. We promise to be there for each other no matter what. Mommy, our beautiful Mommy and Grandma, may you rest in peace.
