He was the devoted husband of Linda Shanholtzer. Together, they built a family filled with love and support. David was the proud father of Matt, Brian, and Rebecca Gellin. Brian is married to Faith, and Rebecca is married to Chris. His family was further blessed with many grandchildren: Madeline, Jonah, Tyler, and Daniel Shanholtzer; Anna, Peyton, Jack, and Skyler Gellin; and Talia, Maya, and Eliza Jefferson, all of whom he adored deeply.

David was the beloved son of Herman Shanholtzer and Naomi Bean. He also leaves behind siblings Gerald, Eugene, Ann, Janice, Dorothy, Barb, Larry, Karen, and John, each of whom holds a special place in the story of his life.

His legacy is one of steadfast love, resilience, and the quiet strength of a man who valued family above all.
