James Travis Mullins Jr., known more closely as “Jimmy” or “Jimbo”, age 68, passed away peacefully in his home on June 18, 2026.
Born on June 4, 1958, to James Travis Mullins Sr. and Betty Kathryn Fantine, Jim was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved most.
Jim is survived by his children, Tanner (Joy) Mullins, Hunter (Faith) Mullins, and Rylie (Michael) Mullins; his beloved grandchildren, Laiken, Asher, Theo, Teegan, and Cohen; his siblings, Helen Meyers and Timothy (Joy) Mullins; his former wife and lifelong friend, Kim Mullins, with whom he remained close throughout the years. Jim also leaves behind nieces and a nephew who will remember him always as the quintessential fun uncle.
For 32 years, Jim dedicated himself to serving others through his work at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital. He was known for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Outside of work, Jim loved NASCAR racing, and was a longtime fan of his favorite driver, Ricky Rudd. He also enjoyed boating on Atwood Lake, attending sporting events, especially Cleveland Indians games, spending time at the beach with his family, and making memories with friends. He cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren and was especially fond of spending time with his faithful dog, Duke. Jim had a gift for making people laugh and was always ready with a joke, a story, or a smile that could brighten someone’s day.
Those who knew Jim will remember his easygoing nature, sense of humor, and the love he shared so freely with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by his family as they lay him to rest, carrying forward his love, his stories, and the quiet strength and presence he left behind, grateful for the time they had with him and the steady place he held in their lives.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be announced by the family once arrangements have been finalized.
