With deep love and never-ending gratitude for her life, the family of Jean Teresa Rodriguez announces her peaceful passing at sunset on July 4, 2025, at the age of 83.

Born on September 3, 1941, Jean was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, and a woman of mischievous sense of humor, spellbinding storytelling, quiet strength, and unwavering faith. Her life was a testament to compassion, perseverance, and deep care for those she loved.

Mama, as she was affectionately known, enjoyed bowling and was an active member of both her work and church bowling teams. She also loved walking long distances and found joy in staying active. One of the greatest joys of her life was spending time with her beloved granddaughter Erika, with whom she shares a deep and unbreakable bond.

In her high school years, Jean was celebrated for both her beauty and intellect. She was crowned Football Queen her senior year and voted “Most Beautiful” by her peers, all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. She was also enthusiastically involved in school activities, including track and journalism, and left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed her path.

Jean is survived by her cherished children, Sheila Marie Rodriguez and Daniel Modesto Rodriguez. She was a proud, selfless, and devoted grandmother to Erika Danielle Galarza and Dany Modesto Rodriguez, who brought immense joy to her later years.

She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: William Smith, Wilbert Smith, Alice Loucks, Wilson Smith, Jane Adams, and Walter Smith. Jean valued her family deeply and carried that love with her always.

Jean’s brave spirit, kindness, and quiet resilience will be greatly missed but forever remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.

A private service will be held at the family’s request. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages everyone to honor Jean’s memory by reaching out to their loved ones and cherishing the bonds that connect us all.
