Larry Martin Sr.

November 29, 1948 — May 18, 2025

Larry James Marlin Sr. was born on November 29, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, the eldest of five children of Plese and Daisy Martin. A proud product of the Cleveland Public Schools, Larry's youthful spirit shone through his love of dancing and old-school music. He delighted in spending time with his children and grandchildren, playing cards around the kitchen table, cheering on his favorite teams, and every afternoon faithfully tuning in to his beloved soap operas.

On May 18, 2025, Larry peacefully went to his heavenly home, leaving behind a rich legacy of laughter and family bonds. He is survived by his cherished children, Theresa Lichelle Martin (daughter of Wilma Gatewood; formerly married to Brian Ross) and Larry James Martin Jr. (husband of Jenice Martin); his dear sister, Roxanne Davis-Belgrave; and countless friends whose lives he brightened. He was preceded in death by his brothers Glen Martin and Charles Martin, and his sister Karen Denise Moore ("Chubby").

Larry's greatest pride came from watching his family grow. He was a devoted grandfather to William Leo Bowe Jr. and Brittany Lichelle Ross, and overjoyed to welcome great-grandchildren William Leo Bowe III ("ManMan"), Zy're Wesley Bowe (Zy"), and Jayonna Marie Bowe into the world;

Great Grandfather to Braylen Isaiah Ross. In addition to those who have gone before him, he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and all who knew him.

Though we will miss Larry's infectious smile and playful spirit, we celebrate a life well-lived-one defined by joy, music, and the warmth of family. The Martin family extends heartfelt thanks to everyone for their prayers, calls of encouragement,
