Marilyn Jean Evans

Marilyn Jean Evans (Bertalon), age 94, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on March 17, 1932, Marilyn lived a life rooted in devotion—to her family, her home, and the simple joys that brought her happiness. She had a deep love for gardening and could often be found tending to her flowers with care and pride. She was an exceptional baker, known for her sweet treats that brought comfort and joy to those around her—fitting for someone who truly had a sweet tooth. Marilyn also found peace in reading and shared a special bond with her beloved animals throughout her life.

Above all else, Marilyn cherished her family. She was a steady presence, offering warmth, kindness, and unwavering love to each generation.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Evans (1981); her daughter, Sue Ann Baon (Evans); her daughter-in-law, Cathy Evans; and her parents, Anna and Steve Bertalon.

Marilyn is lovingly remembered by her son, Steve A. Evans; her son-in-law, Darrell Baon, who remained a close and devoted part of her life; and her grandchildren, Matthew, Timothy (Margaret), Leigh Anne (Thomas), Beth (Lee), Daniel (Chelsie), and Steve.

She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren, who held a very special place in her heart: Bridget, Andrew, Kyle, Tyler, Riley, Katelyn, Nolan, Liam, Connor, Maddie, and Brynlee.

Marilyn’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and quiet strength. She will be remembered for the warmth of her home, the sweetness she shared so freely, and the deep care she gave to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Her family finds comfort in knowing that her love will continue to live on through them.
