Roy Clayton Malone entered this world on May 26, 1940, born to Janie and Homer Malone. Throughout his life, Roy cherished the bonds of family deeply. Though he was preceded in death by five dear siblings—Bessie Rick (Andy Rick), Edith Shingleton (Dean Shingleton), Opal Malone, Homer Malone Jr. (Rikki Malone), and Danny Malone (Mary Malone)—he was blessed with the love and presence of his beloved sister Margie Mickle.
On November 17, 1962, Roy joined in marriage to Winifred Katz, the love of his life. Their partnership spanned six decades, a testament to enduring devotion and shared journey, until Winnie was called home. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Brenda Whittaker (Patrick Whittaker), Bernice Addlesburger (Richard Addlesburger), and Brent Malone (Jackie Hoskinson). The joy of family extended to a cherished granddaughter, Brittney Boley (Takoda Boley), and the greatest sparkle in Roy’s eyes belonged to his special little buddy, great-grandson Xander Boley.
Roy’s commitment to community was evident in his roles as volunteer fireman, police officer, and village worker in Northfield, Ohio, where he served with dedication. He found peace and fulfillment in fishing and hunting, passions that complemented the warmth of his spirit.
Today, we remember Roy Clayton Malone for a life well-lived, marked by love, service, and family — a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
