Susan (Susie) Wolverton (nee Mann), age 69, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, after a three-year battle with lung cancer.
Susie was a voracious reader, had a beautiful singing voice and loved everything to do with Christmas and Precious Moments. Susie’s generous spirit and unrivaled sense of humor made her friends wherever she found herself. It was this same sense of humor, along with her unyielding faith in God, that saw her through every trial life presented her with. Professionally, her acumen with numbers led her to a lifelong career in accounting. In 1991, Susie also won a seat on the Cleveland School Board, campaigning for education reform with three others, together known as “The Four L’s.”
Loving mother to Michael, Angela (James) and Kimberly (Joseph); beloved “Grammy” to Cayden, Evan, Wake and Sawyer; beloved Aunt to Jonathan. Susie was also blessed to find love later in life with Dwight Adams (of Kentucky).
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Wolverton and Michael Leonard, her brother William (Billy) and her loving parents, John and Ann Mann.
Her enormous heart, quick-wit and infectious smile touched so many; she will be well and truly missed.
