It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished father, Terry W. Moore Sr. Born in Lodi, Ohio, he was the son of Reatha Burnace Pigott and Okey Gale Moore from West Virginia. The youngest of five siblings, Terry had two sisters and two brothers.
He returned to Ohio at a young age, where he married Phylis and welcomed two daughters, Annette and Renea. Later in life, he married Robin, with whom he had two sons, T.J. and Jacob. In a testament to his dedication to self-improvement, Terry returned to school just before Jacob's birth to complete his GED. He worked at Engle Hart and held various positions, including stints at Thompson’s Potato Chips, Kirby Vacuum, and Elyria Maintenance. He later pursued a semi-truck driving education, which led to a career at USA Steel.
Terry was a man who cherished life's simple pleasures. His profound love for family and friends shone through in every interaction, whether spent in joyous weekends filled with dancing and karaoke or in his deep appreciation for nature and animals. Though many may not have recognized it, Terry was a genuinely generous soul, quietly supporting numerous charities, including those benefiting Rainbow Babies, various Native communities, his local city, and animal rescues at every opportunity. His commitment to giving was a testament to his character, influenced by a humble background. Terry’s legacy of kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him well.
As a father, Terry created lasting memories for his children by bringing home Thompson's potato chips and CJ's chicken, sharing laughter and joy. He had a particular fondness for coney dogs, relishing them as special treats. As a devoted semi-truck driver, he expressed his creativity through tinkering and applying his handyman skills.
Terry is survived by his beloved children, Annette, Renea, T.J., and Jacob, as well as his siblings Sharrion, Jay, and Danial Moore. He will be forever remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing him.
We bid farewell to our handyman and jack of all trades. May he rest in peace and find solace in the embrace of the divine.
In loving memory, Pop. Always.
A celebration of life will be held at the beloved home he dedicated himself to achieving, with details to be communicated to the family at the earliest opportunity.
