Tina Marie Irons

Tina Marie Irons, 52, of Middlebury, passed away peacefully at Cleveland Clinic on Friday, August 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Tina was born on December 1, 1973, in Elkhart, Indiana, to Donald and Phyllis (Barhydt) McHugh. She was a 1993 graduate of Jimtown High School.

On March 30, 1998, Tina married the love of her life, Christopher Scott Irons. Together, they built a life centered around family and raised four children. Family meant everything to Tina, and those who loved her will forever cherish the countless memories, traditions, laughter, and time they shared together.

Tina was dependable, hardworking, and someone her family could always count on. She spent many years working in the RV industry and took great pride in providing for and caring for those she loved.

Tina is survived by her husband, Christopher; her children, Brigette Beckwith, Allison (DJ) Vitali, Haley (Brian) Troyer, and Christopher Irons II; her beloved grandchildren, Brooklyn Beckwith, Adeline Vitali, and Abigail Troyer; her mother, Phyllis McHugh; her sister, Donna (Rodney) Strong; her brothers, Larry McHugh and Joe McHugh; her mother-in-law, Judith Irons (Jack Dille); her brothers-in-law, William (Christina) Irons and Robert (Cindy) Irons; her nieces and nephews, Ryan Strong, Bryce Strong, Gavin Strong, Amelia Strong, Amanda Irons, Andrew (Karen) Irons, Adam Irons, Seth Umbaugh, and Cubby Irons; as well as many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Tina was preceded in death by her father, Donald McHugh, and her father-in-law, William “Bill” Irons.

Tina faced cancer and the many health challenges that followed her treatments with remarkable determination. Even through the most difficult days, she continued to fight, continued to love her family fiercely, and continued to hold tightly to the people who meant the most to her. Her life will be remembered not simply for the battles she faced, but for the wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend she was throughout them.

Those who knew Tina will remember her sense of humor, her strength, her stubborn determination, and her remarkable talent for genealogy. In 2010, her research led her to discover her father’s brother—a brother her father had never known existed. It was just one example of Tina’s determination to uncover family connections and preserve the stories that tied generations together.

Above all, Tina will be remembered for her love of family. She leaves behind those who loved her deeply and a lifetime of memories, stories, and traditions that will continue to be shared for generations to come.

A memorial gathering celebrating Tina’s life will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, at American Legion Post 210, 103 York Drive, Middlebury, Indiana 46540. Interment will be private.

Memorial donations may be made to Christopher Irons to assist the family with expenses.
